Ok--so there is a big hype about air fryers. I was back and forth on whether I would want one. So, my sweet hubby bought me one!
He got the Power Air Fryer XL.
Here went our night. So, I cooked the 4 pounds of chicken wings in the Instant Pot.
I put green beans in a bowl, misted them with olive oil, sprinkled on garlic powder, and put them in the air fryer. I cooked them for 6 minutes, took them out, shook them, and attempted to get the pan back in. Fought with it for 5 minutes. Watched a You Tube video on how to get the pan back in (apparently you need to scoop it back in--which the instruction manual does not tell you).
Got the pan back in, and cooked it another 6 minutes.
The chicken wings are done, so, I pulled them out of the Instant Pot, and slathered BBQ sauce on them. I place parchment paper in the bottom of the Air Fryer pan, and put the BBQ chicken wings in.
Cooked them in the Air Fryer for 12 minutes, taking them out and shaking them. Putting them back in and cooking some more. I was doing 4 pounds of chicken wings, so it took a while to get them finished. Maybe I should have done 1 layer at a time? Possibly, but I can do it in the oven much quicker.
By the time they were crisped up enough, the green beans are cold. Put the chicken wings on the table, a salad, and put the green beans back in the air fryer.
Sat down to pray. Pulled out the green beans, and now they are burned. ARGH! I did eat them, as did I mention we were starving!
So, I am not impressed with the air fryer, it is going back. I will still cook my chicken wings in the instant pot, but then will put them in the oven with BBQ sauce to crisp them up.
I don't think the air fryer saved me any time. I understand there is a learning curve, but this isn't something I am willing to work on.
Blessings!
